Arabesque Workshop
Arabesque is the mesmerizing pattern of intertwining vines, flowers, and geometric shapes that has adorned mosques, palaces, and manuscripts for centuries. In this Arabesque Workshop, participants used painter's tape to divide their canvases into two distinct sections before mixing rich, vibrant reds and deep blues to paint a bold, striking background.
Given the intricate nature of arabesque, this was a two-hour class and we made the most of the paint drying time with a well-deserved food break! Once the background was set, participants picked up their brushes and used white, yellow, and green to bring classic arabesque elements to life - flowing vines, delicate flowers, and layered leaves.
What made this class truly exciting was watching participants take the traditional foundation and run with it, creating entirely new designs inspired by arabesque rather than bound by it. The end results were vibrant, spectacular, and completely one of a kind.
