Kufic Calligraphy Workshop

What is Kufic Calligraphy?

Kufic calligraphy is one of the oldest and most distinguished forms of Arabic script, known for its bold, angular letterforms and deep roots in Islamic art and architecture.

Camels and Chai Kufic Calligraphy Workshop

This Kufic Calligraphy Workshop was a beautiful blend of structure and creativity. Participants used painter's tape to section their canvases, then painted a flowing backdrop of blues, greens, and sea greens.

While the paint dried, everyone practiced their chosen words on custom Kufic calligraphy sheets, each highlighting the participants’ chosen words. Once the canvas had dried, participants went back and painted their practiced words onto their final masterpiece.

This workshop was so much fun! Every finished piece was a reflection of the individual behind it, and the results were nothing short of incredible.
