Camels and Chai art workshops are beginner-friendly, hands-on classes inspired by Islamic art traditions from across the Muslim world. Each session begins with a short, accessible introduction to the history and culture behind the art form, followed by step-by-step guidance to help you create your own finished piece. No art experience is needed , just curiosity and a willingness to try.

Turkish Iznik Painting Workshop

In this Turkish Iznik Tile–Inspired Painting Workshop with Camels and Chai, participants will paint an 8×8 square canvas inspired by the vibrant patterns and floral motifs of traditional Iznik ceramics. The class introduces the history and design elements of Iznik tiles while guiding participants through a relaxed, step-by-step acrylic painting process. No prior art experience is needed, and all supplies are provided.

Islamic Geometric Painting Class

In this Islamic Geometric Pattern Painting Workshop with Camels and Chai, participants will create intricate repeating patterns on card stock using rulers, compasses, and other tools. Once the patterns are drawn, participants will paint over them with fine detail brushes, exploring the precision and beauty of traditional Islamic geometric art. No prior art experience is needed, and all materials are provided.

In this Mughal Miniature Painting Workshop with Camels and Chai, participants will paint a Mughal-inspired fall tree using rich, regal warm colors inspired by traditional miniature paintings of the Mughal period. The class introduces key elements of Mughal miniature art, including detail, composition, and color, while offering a calm, guided acrylic painting experience. No prior art experience is needed, and all supplies are provided.

The class introduces the basics of Kufic calligraphy and its geometric structure while guiding participants through a calm, hands-on acrylic painting experience.
